Italy is a wonderful country to spend time in, enjoying the vineyards, perhaps balanced with a little culture as so many of the wine regions are located near beautiful towns and cities rich in history. The Italians are warm and welcoming to wine enthusiasts, and the wineroutes accommodation offers you the chance to meet the locals and really get to know the region, by staying in winery owned hotels and villa style accommodation. Travelling independently you will have plenty of time, at your leisure, to enjoy the wonderful choice of restaurants, from simple auberges to gastronomic trattorias. Then of course, there are all those tempting produce markets that you will have time to explore and stock up your store cupboard with!
